Today I have an interesting blog topic, English words and Chinese Characters.

Let's see. I heard of this from one of my classmate "Why must we learn Chinese and not the Chinese learn English instead?". That gave me the idea of today's blog topic.

"Why must we learn Chinese and not the Chinese learn English instead?" I somehow agree on that. For English is so much simpler. Look at this, nusery's in Singapore do you see people go like A for apple, B for boy...(blah blah blah). Or do you see them going like Wo xi huan chi ping guo (I like to eat apple).
Definitely the first choice mentioned right? This already shows the MOE wants Singapore to be inclining in English Language.

Secondly, as you know when someone doesn't understand what are you murmuring about in Mandarin. You usually try to explain it in English ya? This proves that more Singaporeans are better at English. Back to the question, "Why must we learn Chinese and not the Chinese learn English instead?", since more Singaporeans are better at English why are we learning Chinese so hard? We humans should be working on our own strengths and not our weakness.

Thirdly, as all of you know Singapore is a multi-racial country. So we are talking about a country that is filled with many different kinds of race. And English is a world-wide communication language. So all should understand English language. If this is true, why are we still learning Chinese? To uphold our special language? Our prestige?...Bullshit on the prestige. Many out there are mocking at us Chinese for countless of reasons. Prestige? more like shame(for some).

Last reason of all. English has only 26 characters and Chinese have thousands of characters. So logically which will be easier? English ya? Not that we are lazy but look at modern technologies. For instance, a keyboard. Do they have Chinese characters there? No. Why? Because it's almost impossible to put all the thousands of Chinese characters on the keyboard. So how do people nowadays type Chinese words? They have type the Han Yu Pin Ying of the Chinese words. And again, the Han Yu Pin Ying of all Chinese words consist of alphabets. Is this showing that the English people are dominating the Chinese?

Many say we learn Chinese because that is our root language. But now somone that genius came up with English which is simpler and now a world-wide known language.

I think that we humans should stick to just one language for better communication and relationship. So what do you think about it?
